HP Envy m7 Notebook W2K88UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased the HP USB-C/A Univeral Dock G2. The docking station is plugged and the button on the top is lit up so I know the docking station is getting power, but when I unplug my laptop into the docking station without the power cord the laptop indicates that it is not charging. When I plug in my laptop power cord I can the laptop is charging. How do I resolve this issue?

Your machine is an HP ENVY Notebook m7-u109dx,  its specs:

    https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c05333540

It has

  • 1 HDMI;
  • 1 headphone/microphone combo;
  • 1 RJ-45;
  • 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only);  - This probably is USB-C port
  • 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only)

You can't charge your notebook using any USB port

Regards.
