I want to upgrade my laptop and want to add a M. 2 SSD. I don't know what SSD is should I purchase Nvme Or M.2 sata SSD. Also, I have very little information about SSDs. I called HP but I think HP don't like to help their customer so they exactly don't know. Attaching picture of my motherboard.

Thanks a ton in advance.

Hi,

For models in that series you can install an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD of your desired brand and capacity. Something like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus would be great.

You should check if the actual slot is present on motherboard.

On page 43 of service manual you can see the steps to install the drive if the slot is there.

Hope it helps,

David
