It does have a m.2 slot I put in a 16g optane stick and cant get the drivers to work they say disk not compatible but it has a gpt disk in it like it needs.  If i pull up bios it shows there with my hard drive but is in offline mode.  Legacy setting is disabled like it says to do any ideas how to get it to work?

I'd love to follow proper etiquette and I'd like to be a contributor when possible but I'm not sure what you're asking of me. I am in no way attempting to take any undue credit if that is what I am reading and I am sorry if it appears that way,

PS I think I understand what you are asking of me now but since I was not the original poster I cannot accept the solution to makle this post solved.

This should remove any concerns regarding the slots. As for limitations, from the manual we can see that some models do come with nvme drives, so that's a safe bet and for ram, it says it's up to 16GB 2400 for the 8550U/8250U and 2666 for the 8750H/8300H models.

I've had the laptop with a Samsung 970 EVO 512GB as boot for about 5 months now. My device started BSOD'ing about two weeks ago with a different error code (or stop code) every time. I tried diagnosing with literally everything, even a fresh install of Windows. According to task manager my NVMe goes to 100% before everything freezes for about 15 to 30 seconds, then BSOD. Has anyone else been having this issue, or possibly have any solutions?

That's my next move. I was waiting for my USB/SATA adapter so I could try to boot from the USB and then run the clone with my latest config. Then hopefully I can reboot after removing the USB and It will see the NVME and then I can scrub the HDD and put it back in as storage. Just haven't been motivated since I got the adapter on Friday. As far as the screw goes, not sure what size nor did I see a thread in the plastic and I certainly don't want to force it to self thread.

what nvme drive did you put in your system?

CX0056WM comes with 1 m.2 slot for either nvme m.2 ssd or optane memory but not both. I installed an adata xpg sx8200 pro 1tb nvme drive and left the stock hdd in as secondary drive. Also installed Ballistix LT 32GB DDR4 2666 MHz SODIMM Memory Kit (2 x 16GB) even though after purchase I believe you can also use the DDR4 2400 Mhz version as well if its cheaper. Installation was really easy. Good luck.

sounds like it might be a hard drive issue. have you tried using another hard drive to rule it out? without knowing the error codes it would be hard to pinpoint where the problems is exactly it could be anything on the computer.
