Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I own a victus gaming laptop. Since laptops are known for high temps while gaming, im concerned about my hardware. So my question is, if I have factory warranty and a carepack and i end up damaging my hardware due to overheating, will this damage be covered by the warranty?

Hi @im_ishida,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, HP covers a warranty for hardware damage due to overheating. Typically, standard warranties cover manufacturing defects and hardware failures, but they may not cover damage caused by user negligence or environmental factors.

It's essential to carefully review the terms of your warranty and care pack to understand the extent of coverage. Some warranties specifically exclude damage caused by improper use, neglect, or environmental conditions beyond the manufacturer's control.

If you're concerned about the potential for overheating and want to ensure coverage, consider taking proactive steps to manage temperatures, such as using a cooling pad, ensuring proper ventilation, and avoiding prolonged gaming sessions in high-temperature environments. Additionally, regularly cleaning the laptop's cooling system can help prevent overheating-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
