Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I continue upgrading my old PC. Currently I've installed an SSD from Transcend (256 Gb) and FINALLY (after several month after my last post here) replaced my old Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 processor with a used Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 one. And also I replaced the GD900 thermal paste with a fresh GD900-1. So now I want to install extra RAM.

I have a Quanta 306A motherboard which supports (judging by Aida64) only 8 Gb of RAM (now I have 2 RAMs for 2 Gb of DDR2). So, I want to get the best performance of my PC, so I want to buy the best.

Now I've decided to purchase such RAM:

SODIMM

DDR3-1066

2 RAM for 4Gb (so I'll the most possible 8Gb)

The question is: will it work?

No. DDR3 is keyed differently. The modules would not click into the slots. You are stuck with DDR2

OK, got that. So, what would you suggest? 2×4 Gb DDR2 SODIMM? Then will it make sense to upgrade to such hardware?

HP Recommended

Yes 4 gb DDR2-800 modules tend to be expensive. Not sure the cost is worth the extra performance although it will improve the performance somewhat.
