I need to upgrade my HP ENVY Notebook - m6-p114dx to get the latest Win10v1909, so I'm considering buying an SSD and NEED to know which platform/formfactor to get as in, either traditional cased SSD SATA or M.2 SATA or M.2 NVME PCIe ???
I understand all the tech and data speed differences, I just need to know which to purchase before opening up my laptop.
Thanks in advance!

Hi:
The service manual doesn't show the presence of any M.2 slots for a SSD, so you would need to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

The crucial memory/SSD report only shows 2.5" SSD's for sale.
If it supported M.2 SSD's they would be listed too.

Thank You Sir for the answer, and quickly at that !!!
And Thanks for the link for the manual, I had never thought of downloading it, although I have the paper version from the box when new, never thought of looking in it for the answer, not something I thought would be there.
NOW, I can purchase the correct form-factor and open my case only once for the install.
