HP LAPTOP 15-DY1731MS
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP LAPTOP 15-DY1731MS is having problems that coincide with a bad CMOS battery (Peripherals aren’t responsive, network problems). Does this model have a CMOS battery? If so, how do you access it? We've taken the bottom cover off, but don't see it. Didn't want to start taking the motherboard off without knowing if there is a CMOS battery under there!

If there isn't a CMOS battery, what would cause similar issues? Does the bios rely on the regular battery?

Thanks very much!!

Hi:

HP only has the maintenance and service guide for the older models in the series on your notebook's support page.

HP Notebook 15-dy1731ms Manuals | HP® Customer Support

I don't know of any of these new HP notebooks that come with the internal main battery also having the CMOS/RTC battery.

If you look at chapter 3 of the manual, there is no CMOS/RTC battery part listed and if you look at chapter 5, there is no procedure to remove or replace the CMOS/RTC battery.

The internal main battery serves both purposes.
