I was looking to upgrade my laptop with SSD so with my HP Laptop 15s-du0xxx can I simultaneously house my pre-installed HDD and the SSD

You have two options:

 

You can replace the 1 TB 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD

 

Your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports M>2 NVMe SSD's so you can install one of those as well or instead.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.  Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.
