Does HP Laptop 15t-Ay100 has M2 slot or Can I install M2 SSD on it?

I want to upgrade my laptop hard drive which is HDD. I was wondering if I can replace my current HDD with a  M2 SSD.

The series only supports SINGLE storage therefore no option for you to add more storage hardware.

The only chance you have, is to exchange the HDD with a 2,5 " SATA SSD

Yes, but it's not (!) a NVMe. So why not a 2,5 " Sata SSD?  Cheaper and easier to replace. What is the sense of a M.2 ?

I am getting a 500 GB SATA III M2 for 40 Buck in amazon cheaper than 2.5 inch SSD. If pereformace are same then based on the cost I can got for M2 ?

Hi, @NSAHOO 

Unless your notebook came from the factory with a M.2 SATA SSD, there is no M.2 slot present.

If you look at chapter 3 of the service manual, additional parts are used to add the M.2 SSD.

it is not an integral part of the motherboard.

You were correctly advised by the other respondents that your only option would be to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

M.2 SATA and 2.5" SATA SSD's have exactly the same performance for the brand and model.

Look up the WD Blue 2.5" M.2 and 2.5" SATA SSD's for example.

The sequential read/write speeds are exactly the same.

You get a SanDisc 2,5" for the same price.

It is your decision and your responsibility if you have compatibility problems afterwords.
