HP Pavilion - 14-al108tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

Can anyone confirm whether HP Pavilion - 14-al108tx (https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c05301889) support hyper v technology? As there is no BIOS options for me to enable Virtualization Technology. Thanks.

I am planing to upgrade my Windows 10 Home edition to Windows 10 Pro edition, if HP Pavilion - 14-al108tx supports hyper v technology.

Hi! @ezrapang, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you would like to know how to enable virtualization on your PC.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

As you mentioned you would like to know how to enable virtualization on your PC.

Most of the HP consumer laptop does not support Virtualization.

I have checked the specifications of your PC and it does not support virtualization technology.

However, you can try few steps recommended below.

Ensure that hardware virtualization supported on your PC and is turned on in the BIOS settings.

Save the BIOS settings and boot up the machine normally

Click the search icon (magnified glass) on the taskbar

Type turn windows features on or off and select that item

Select and enable Hyper-V
If Hyper-V was not previously enabled, reboot the machine to apply the change.

NOTE: As a best practice, configure networking for the Hyper-V environment to support external network connections. Also, ensure that a virtual switch has been created and is functional.

Click the search icon (magnified glass) on the taskbar, type Hyper-V Manager and select the item

NOTE: Right-click Hyper-V Manager to pin it to the taskbar

Open the Virtual Switch Manager, found on the Actions panel in the Hyper-V Manager, by typing Hyper-V at the Start Screen
Select Virtual Switch Manager in the Actions pane

Ensure that External is highlighted, and then click on the Create Virtual Switch button

If more than one NIC in is present, ensure that the proper NIC is selected for use on the VM external network connections.

Refer this article to know more information about enabling client hyper-v.
