Hi,

I think the two SSDs you mentioned is the same thing.

Anyway, the notebook supports M2 PCIe NVMe SSD such as the Samsung 970 Evo Plus or similar of your desired capacity. (no limit to capacity)

Examples:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M7Q21N7/ref=twister_B07NLZ58HW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-500GB-NAND-NVMe-PCIe/dp/B07J2WBKXF/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1LS127HFK0AF2...

On page 41 of service manual, you can see the steps to install the drive

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06377664

Max RAM is 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x16GB)

So, yes, you can install an extra 8GB module in the empty slot.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-gaming-15-dk0010tx#MEMORYFi...

On page 34 of the service manual, you can see the steps to install the RAM.

Hope it helps,

David

Greetings ,

I have approached Kingston HyperX team , and their reply is

Thank you for contacting HyperX.

In response to your inquiry, based on the spec of your laptop, there is available slot and it can support up to 32GB; therefore, HyperX Impact 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 SODIMM should be able to work with your laptop.

However, the result of overclocking depends on the entire system and its hardware. Please understand the compatibility is not guaranteed when overclocking memory modules are installed on your laptop even if the spec matched, unless it has been validated by HP. Therefore, we would recommend you to purchase from a store that has "the change of mind" policy where you can return/replace the product within 7-15 days if it happens to have the compatibility issue.”

Should I get a normal RAM instead of Overclocking memory modules (in this case ,Kingston  HyperX )

thank you.

You should use normal RAM as you are not going to be overclocking the RAM and you will not have any speed gain.

Some "gaming" RAM uses XMP to run at the highest speeds and thaactual base speed might be slower than what you want. (no XMP in your notebook). I would go with the Crucia ones linked above.

David

After some digging and reading in the internet regarding XMP and RAM, I found out the specs for the said card

• JEDEC/PnP:

DDR4-2666 CL15-17-17 @1.2V DDR4-2400 CL14-16-16 @1.2V DDR4-2133 CL12-14-14 @1.2V

• XMP Profile #1:
DDR4-2666 CL15-17-17 @1.2V

Thank you very much for your recommendations and advice, really appreciate it.
