HP Pavilion dv6-6b60eo
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6b60eo and would like to upprade to a SSD drive.

I am wondering if I can uppgrade to a SSD drive, Samsung EVO 850 500gb? It only says 160gb in the manual.

Hi Mikael,

Your PC will support larger SSD drive. In the manual is only specified the drive certain model in that series came with. So you can install a 256GB, 512GB or 1TB drive without any problem. The Samsung are considered the best prize / performance drives on the market.

You will need to reinstall the OS on the SSD.

Let me know if you need any further help,

David

If you are using your notebook’s recovery media, the SSD will need to have at least 160 GB storage capacity.

Usually, a 256GB or 512GB SSD is enough capacity for a notebook or Ultrabook.

I hope that this information helps you succeed in your upgrade and clears up some questions you had.

There will always be more questions, so feel free to ask them.

Thanks for the reply,

So my laptop will accept any SSD drives above 160gb? Just to clarify.
