Hello.

Yes, you can use any USB-C dock with your laptop. Your laptop provides also Displayport Alt Mode which is a requirement on many modern USB-C docks.

NB: Thunderbolt docks also use the same USB-C connector but your laptop does not have Thunderbolt port, ruling them out.

thank you for the information, I have been searching online mainly on yt and Reddit if my HP Victus can be connected to a USB C dock station but no result. Anyway, any USB C dock can be connected to my laptop which also means HP dock stations like the G5, etc, or other brands?

HP Recommended

Yes, you can choose any brand you like.

Also note that some USB-C docks can provide power to the laptop (USB PD - Power Delivery), up to 100 Watts. This is handy for many (non-gaming) laptops because you don't need a separate charger connected to the laptop.

Your gaming laptop however requires way more power and cannot be charged with USB-C. You can still use a dock with PD but it is a wasted feature with your Victus.

One more thing - many docks require DisplayPort Alt Mode support on the laptop. Your laptop has this feature.

Does that mean I just need to plug in the USB C dock and use it normally ( connect my monitor and hard disk)? is it not going to affect the battery since it also can be used for Power delivery like you said while I still connect my main laptop charger when using it?

Yes.

There are docks with their own power supply, and docks which are powered by the host - your laptop. Those powered by the host are using your laptop to power them and all the other devices connected into it except those with their own power supply - such as monitors. In that case the battery is of course affected to some degree if your laptop is not connected to a charger.
