The HP Victus 15-fb0000 series laptop with the AMD Radeon RX 6500M does not have a direct dGPU (dedicated GPU) output. This means:

 

  • The HDMI port is wired to the integrated GPU (iGPU), which is typically the AMD Radeon integrated graphics from the Ryzen processor.

  • The RX 6500M is still used for rendering via MUX-less (hybrid) graphics, but the video signal passes through the iGPU, which may slightly reduce gaming performance on an external monitor compared to direct dGPU output.

 

Recommendations:

 

  • If you're planning to use an external monitor for gaming, choose a high-refresh-rate display and make sure that your notebook's BIOS/drivers, Windows and AMD drivers are all up to date.

  • Set games to use the RX 6500M via the Windows Graphics Settings (Settings > System > Display > Graphics).

  • Consider a laptop with a MUX switch or Advanced Optimus, if direct dGPU output is important for your workload or gaming needs.
