Is an m.2 Port? If it is, what type?Is an m.2 Port? If it is, what type?

manual it says that accepts a dual configuration, 256 GB Value SSD + 1 TB HDD. But i don´t know what type of M.2 accept.

I open the lap to find, and I don´t know if the parts in red circle, in the attached photo, are for the m.2 ssd. It seems that only have two parts for connect, like a NVMe 2280.

In other questions in this forum, they say probably. I want to know if i can add an m.2, and still use my HD.

I have seen this model

"ADATA ASX7000NP-128GT-C XPG SX7000 PCIe 128GB 3D NAND MLC NVMe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Solid State Drive"

I don´t want to spend money on an m.2 that is not goin to work: If this is not possibly, I'd see the option to change the hd for a ssd.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Fevmex,

I checked the specification of your computer and see that your computer doesn't support dual-storage configuration.

You are right, as per the page 3 of the manual your computer doesn't support dual-storage configuration as your computer uses UMA (Unified memory architecture).

Hope that answers your question.

Hi @Fevmex,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether your computer support SSD

I’d love to help!

I checked the specifications of your computer and see that your computer does support an SSD but you need M.2 solid-state drive adapter bracket and connector board.

Please refer to the below service manual of your computer (Page 60) for more information.

Thanks The_Fossette for the quick reply.

I read the manual and see your point, also in the manual, and is the origin of my doubt, in page 3, it´s mentioned in the section of hard drives,  the options of dual storage configuration.

256 GB Value SSD + 1 TB HDD

128 GB Value SSD + 1 TB HDD

That's  why  I decided to open my lap and attach a picture with a possibly m.2 port (red circles) to know if It´s possibly to use an m.2 ssd and the 1 TB HDD that came with the lap. My problem is that I don´t have a m.2 2280 to know if it works.

Hope you in HP can test it and tell me if it´s possibly, cause the manual is contradictory in page 3 and 60.

Hope you can help and thanks for your answer
