Hi guys I'm new here. 

I have an Hp 250 g5 laptop Intel celeron n 3060

I want to upgrade my ram but it's only one slot I can find and my task manager tells me there is a 2nd slot that is empty.

I'm a 3d artist and I really need a lotta ram for my laptop.

I'll really appreciate if you can help me with this please.

Hi:

 

Notebooks with the Pentium and Celeron processors only have one memory slot and the max the slot can take is 8 GB.

 

So, you would have to remove the 4 GB chip and replace it with an 8 GB chip.

Thanks so much for replying, now I know. Then I would have to upgrade to 8gb RAM in that 1 slot but windows updates are meant to be correcting task manager's info

When you take the notebook apart, you will see traces of a memory slot, so most software programs are fooled by that.

 

There have been several disappointed folks that have bought two memory chips based on those erroneous reports, only to find the single memory slot.
