HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 15-ed1000 (169X0AV)

Does Hp Envy x360 15  support DP Alt Mode.?

I was told at purchase it did.

In its specs it says...

SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate with Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4 and HP Sleep and Charge Power your device or connect to an external display from just one USB-C® port with 10Gbps signaling rate. And it's reversible, so you never have to worry about plugging in upside down [8]

So today,, I read the [8] footnote buried down below on spec sheet.

It says... Actual throughput may vary. USB Type-C® and USB-C® are trademarks of USB Implementers Forum.

I have a usb type c to hdmi cable. I use it for my Sam Note 20 Ultra to stream on my HD LG tv but not a smart tv. Works great.

But when I use same cable to connect tv to my HP envy x360 notebook... it only charges. No video output. Why not? On my friends Dell and Mac.. the same cable works fine with my TV.

Im left feeling like I got scammed when I bought this computer. The Specs paint one picture... the buried footnotes paint another. If it wont work then maybe just say so in the upfront language.  The only difinitive way to know is if this computers usb type c port, uses DP Alt Mode That i cannot find in the specs one way or anothrr. Immplying it will .. 10Gbps signaling rate with Power Delivery, DisplayPort ... should mean this will work.

Here are the usb type c to hdmi specs. It works fine.

UGREEN USB C to HDMI Cable 4K 60Hz 10FT Thunderbolt 4/3 to HDMI Type C to HDMI Braided Cord Converter Support 3D Compatible with MacBook Pro/Air, iMac, iPad Pro, Galaxy S20 S10, Surface, Dell, HP

I believe your TV has few HDMI ports,  You have to tell your TV which HDMI port is connected to a computer. Please check its manual.
