Hi:

There is no difference between single channel and dual channel memory.

Single channel memory is a mode...SDR.

A PC's memory runs in SDR mode when only one memory module is installed or memory is installed in mismatched capacities such as a 4 GB chip and an 8 GB chip.

Dual channel memory means that two memory chips of matching capacities are installed in both memory slots, such as 2 x 4 GB or 2 x 8 GB.

This is the preferred way to install memory as it runs at a better performing rate than when it is in single channel mode.
