Hi
I want to know if this laptop has tpm or not. I have searched for tpm chip pics and this i think this laptop motherboard has it when i opened it for changing thermal paste. the chip had an "i" logo. bios also does not have any options for tpm nor device manager shows it. I would like to know if this laptop has tpm or not. thank you

Hi:
None of the dv6 model series came with a TPM security device.
If you are asking because of wanting to install W11, the processor your notebook has is also not supported.
You have to use one of the several different W11 hardware check bypass methods to upgrade to W11 on an unsupported platform.
I found this method to be the easiest way to do that...

Before upgrading to W11, I recommend that you make a system image of your current W10 installation prior to updating to W11, so you can easily reinstall W10 in the future. I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section.
Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to identify any chip logos or symbols.
But you can rest assured that your notebook does not have a TPM.
Back in those days, only the higher end business PC's and desktops had TPM security chips.
I don't believe they started adding TPM 2.0 security chips to comsumer class notebooks until the Intel Skylake processors cane out and even later for the notebooks with AMD processors. I'm thinking some 7th gen AMD and Ryzen processors.
