Hey all,
I have a HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cs3008tx laptop and i wanted to upgrade my ram from 8gb to 16gb by myself, will doing this upgrade by myself void the warranty or will it stay intact?
The laptop is currently under extended warranty that will not expire until Feb 2023 so i had to make sure if i could do this upgrade without voiding it.

@Anupvenkat47 -- before you spend any money, open the Windows "Task Manager" while running your usual programs, and switch to its "Performance" tab. How much of your current 8 GB of RAM is your computer using? If it is using less than 4 GB, then adding more RAM is a waste of your money.
What do you see?
If you do have a problem while the warranty is still valid, remove the "extra" RAM, to see if the problem still occurs, before making a claim against the warranty. HP will not be able to tell that the "extra" RAM was temporarily inserted.

I did check my RAM usage and it between 5GB to 7GB on average, sometimes my laptop does struggle for a while to process few programs due to current RAM size, so i have no other choice but to upgrade the RAM.
The main reason for this question is due to the requirement of removing the whole back cover to access the RAM slots, will opening this back cover void the warranty immediately or are there specific conditions where the warranty is not voided unless those conditions are met?

It is unfortunate that your computer does not have a small door that you can open to view/change the RAM.
Start the Windows "Task Manager", and look at the "Processes" tab, to see the processes that are consuming segments of your RAM. Some of the processes could be "background" processes, such as "Adobe Updater", which do nothing, most of the time, except to occasionally "call home" to check for updates. Also, you'll see that Microsoft Edge consumes more-and-more RAM, as you open many web-pages, over time. Just close all instances of Edge, to free-up a few GB of RAM, before launching your "game" software.

I cannot speak for HP as to their enforcement of their Warranty.
But, if you are extremely careful when removing the back plate -- not "stripping" any screws, and not putting any scratches on the plate, I can speculate that HP will not be able to determine that the plate was temporarily removed. Of course, return the computer hardware to its "factory" condition, before making a claim against the warranty.
