You're very welcome.
The W10 product key is in your notebook's BIOS.
You have two ways to reinstall W10...
1. The HP cloud recovery tool. You will need to temporarily disconnect the hard drive for this, or the tool will reinstall W10 on the 2.5" drive...
Use the cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook. Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

2. Clean install W10 by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

If your notebook does not have a M.2 slot, then you can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD, which will be just as fast as the SATA M.2 SSD would have been.

Hi:
You will have to open up the notebook and check for the presence of a M.2 slot.
On several models of notebooks from that period, the M.2 slot was a removable part and was only included if a M.2 SSD came with the notebook from the factory.
All of the service manuals were missing from all notebook support pages until sometime last night/early this morning when it was fixed after 2 days of being OOC.
Below is the link to the service manual. Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.
If your notebook does have a M.2 slot, the slot only supports SATA SSD's, not NVMe.
You can see in chapter 3 page 21 or page 27 of the service manual, the additional parts that were used to include a M.2 slot.

Thank you for your help.
Thanks for letting me know that the manuals are back. Either it was bad timing, or HP took action based on my feedback about the dead URLs.
Thank you also for the alert that they only take M.2 SATA drives. Not great but still faster than my 5400 RPM hard drive. And it will be a second drive for the OS, the swap area, and other things that need speeding up.
I will open the case tomorrow and check out the slots.
