I am thinking of upgrading my hdd to ssd but  found out we can use m2 slots in some laptops to upgrade the storage. But, i am not sure if my device has m2 slot or not. Even, if it has one , can i use it to upgrade the storage using m2 pcie or sata storage. Thanks for help in advance.

No the laptop is from before there was such a thing as M.2 slots. Your only SSD option is a 2.5 inch wide SATA SSD that is shaped the same as the hard drive. You will still experience a major improvement in performance from such an upgrade.
