Hp 15-da1017nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Hello

Patient Hp 15-da1017nw notebook with HP8533 motherboard.

Ive bought Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB m.2 ssd drive and installed into m.2 slot.

The think is it is to work on PCIe gen 3   x4, and unfortunately its working only   x2, so the speed is below expected.

Please see below HWinfo screen (stating maximum 4x...current 2x...):

Can anything be done to force it with x4 link width...? Can't find anything about motherboard in internet, neither nothing interesting in service manual...

I don't even know if that slot is supporting PCIe 3.0 x4 ?

You should be able to add M.2 NVMe SSD to your machine using

                Or similar from reputable vendors.
One example (compatible drive, can use smaller/larger capacity)

Yeah I am able, and i am already using however its working on PCIE 3.0 x2 what is about 50% of speed normally this SSD can do, because it can work on PCIE 3.0 x4.

Question is: Is m2 slot on motherboard hp8533 of my notebook running only PCIe 3.0 x2, or it should be able to run PCIe 3.0 x4 as well?
