Hi:

The M.2 slot in your notebook supports SATA M.2 SSD's only, not NVMe.

See chapter 1 page 3 of the service manual for the supported drive types.

Thanks for your answer Paul,
my Hp notebook is Pavilion 15
the service manual you sent me is for Pavilion 17, and Pavilion 15.
also, I found a separate pavilion 15 service manual here in the link below :
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06248419.pdf

this service manual said in Chapter 1, page 3 that Pavilion 15 supports M.2, PCIe, NVMe, Solid-state-drive
512 GB TLC
512 GB
256 GB

so I got confused, does my Hp notebook support NVMe or not?

You're very welcome.

Your notebook's M.2 slot definitely does not support NVMe SSD's.

There are literally hundreds of different HP Pavilion 15 notebooks and they have different specifications.

If you look at the top of chapter 1, page 1 of the service manual you posted, it is for an entirely different and much newer Pavilion 15 model series.

Model numbers:
15-cs0000 – 15-cs0999; 15-cs1000 – 15-cs1999; 15-cs2000 – 15-cs2999
15t-cs000; 15t-cs100; 15t-cs200

Look at the processors they come with and compare them to the processor yours comes with.

Processors 8th generation Intel® Core™ processors
i7-8565U 1.80 GHz (SC turbo up to 4.60 GHz) quad core processor (8.0 MB L3 cache, 2400-MHz FSB, 15 W)

i3-8130U 2.20 GHz (SC turbo up to 3.40 GHz) dual core processor (4.0 MB L3 cache, 2400-MHz FSB, 15 W)
7th generation Intel processors
Core i7-7500U 2.70 GHz (SC turbo up to 3.50 GHz) dual core processor (4.0 MB L3 cache, 2133-MHz FSB, 15 W)
Pentium® Gold 4415U 2.30 GHz, dual core processor (2.0 MB L3 cache, 2133-MHz FSB, 15 W)

A totally different and much newer model series that does support NVMe SSD's.
