hi
i own HP Pavillion 15 AU 118TX, i want to install m.2 NVMe SSD, not able to reach a confimed conclusion. Also presently only one samsung 8GB 2133Mhz RAM is installed, so should i only install another 2133 MHz RAM, or can i go for crucial 2400 one???

Hi:
You are going to have to open up the notebook and check.
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates there is a M.2 slot that supports SATA M.2 SSD's, not NVMe.
HP Pavilion Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
But on several models if the notebook did not come with a M.2 SSD from HP, the slot is not there.
Chapter 6 has the procedure to remove and replace the SSD.
If there is a M.2 slot, it should be visible after you remove the bottom cover, and hard drive (chapter 6, page 34).
Regarding the memory...yes you can install a compatible Crucial DDR4-2400 memory module and it will automatically bridge to 2133 MHz, which is the fastest speed your notebook's Intel® Core™ i7-7500U processor can run the memory at.

Thanx and Yes you were correct.
I opened the laptop and the m.2 slot is missing. So i guess i dont have that option now. Will have to return the NVMe purchased.
I have also ordered simmtronics 8gb 2133mhz for second slot. BUT OUT OF CURIOSITY CAN I PUT TWO x 16GB CRUCIAL 2400 RAM IN BOTH SLOTS,
Well in my case now what would you suggest should i do to enhance speed, should i replace the hdd and what are the options wd me. ?? SATA SDD??

You're very welcome.
I don't believe that 2 x 16 GB of memory will work in your notebook. Best to stick with 2 x 8 GB.
16 GB of memory is enough for almost all situations.
I would definitely recommend that you replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
The faster boot up time and drive performance will be noticeable. This is a model I recommend if you can live with 500 GB.
You can use the cloud recovery tool to reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook onto the new SSD, clean install W10 and install the drivers and software to the SSD, or clone the existing drive's contents to the SSD.
Info for how to use the cloud recovery tool...

If you clone the drive, you need to have enough space on the drive to fit whatever is currently stored on the hard drive.
