Trying to upgrade my storage on my laptop hp laptop 15-dw1xxx. Bought a crucial p310 m.2 ssd. When booting it can’t recognize the drive.

What is your xxx machine ? Crucial M.2 SSD is a Gen 4 drive but you can install it on your machine, ONLY it won't run at Gen 4 speed.

It is a hp laptop 15-dw series. When switched it out I click on the show storage and it says no storage detected. I formates the drive on the laptop before switching it so I know it sees it.
