Product : Hp Pavilion Notebook 15-ab125AX
Operating System : Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi,
I'm going to upgrade my laptop installing an SSD and don't know what to buy. I never opened it,so I don't know if it has an SSD slot (M.2, or whatever).
I am thinking of buying a caddy and SSD.But don't know which company of SSD to buy. Will it be better if I replace the DVD Driver with Caddy or install the SSD in Hard Disk Drive place.
Please suggest me with quickly
Thanks

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
HP Pavilion Notebook (AMD) Maintenance and Service Guide
Chapter 1 provides the supported drive types.
Your notebook does not have a M.2 slot to install a SSD.
You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
I recommend one of the Crucial MX500 2.5" SSD's in a storage capacity that fits your needs and budget.

You're very welcome.
It is usually better if you replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD because the optical drive may not be connected to a SATA 3 port, and that would degrade the performance of the SSD.
Now if you wanted to install the 2.5" mechanical hard drive in a DVD caddy and use if for extra storage, that would be fine.
Yes, you can have 2.5" SSD storage from 250 GB - 2 TB.
