HP Laptop PC 15-dw3000 (1A3Y5AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After just 1 year and 4 months, my battery is already dead. Like it's not charging at all, I can still use it while it's plugged in, but the problem is whenever I turn off my laptop it has to restart to default when I turn it on again, so I have to adjust the time and date all the time. Also, just a sudden power loss would immediately shut my laptop off. Since I am a student who uses my laptop everyday this is a major hassle, and it gives me anxiety thinking that it will just shut down all of a sudden while I'm taking my exams.

When I checked my warranty on the website it said that I still have 8 months, but I don't understand whether it covers fixing my battery because there is another warranty that already expired last June. Please enlighten me.

Unfortunately, main betteries as an industry standard, are only covered for one year, so the answer is no.

Unless you purchased an extended warranty or have a top tier notebook, the warranty is only valid for a single year.

A standard HP notebook, like yours, is a mainstream notebook.
