Hi everyone,
I have an HP Notebook – 15‑db1069au (also known as model 9VJ83PA) running Windows, currently with an HDD. I'm planning an upgrade and would like confirmation on the following:
Does this model support an M.2 slot for adding an SSD?
Are M.2 NVMe (PCIe Gen3 x4) drives supported, or only M.2 SATA
If not all 15‑db1069au units have the M.2 slot, how can I check—via BIOS, the service manual, or by opening the laptop?

Hi:
Since your notebook has an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor, it has a M.2 slot that supports NVMe SSDs.
The M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.
A PCIe Gen 4 SSD will work, but it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3 slot.
Here's an eBay listing of the motherboard your notebook comes with.

The M.2 slot is on the upper left corner of the motherboard in the picture.
