The laptop works fine but, under every boot it keeps saying how the CMOS battery is dead and that the BIOS will reset to the default config every time my battery runs out. I've looked at partsurfer for my model of laptop and could not find a CMOS battery. The manual does not indicate a trace of this laptop having a CMOS battery. Does anyone know if it does have a CMOS battery or not? I've opened up the laptop before for a drive upgrade and did not see a CMOS battery on the side which faces me. If there isn't a CMOS battery, then how would I get rid of the post code for a dead CMOS battery?

Hi:
According to the service manual, your notebook does not have a CMOS/RTC battery.
I checked chapter 3's parts list and chapter 5's removal and replacement procedures and there is no CMOS/RTC battery part number or removal and replacement procedure.
I also did a 'find on page' search for the word 'battery,' and the only battery term found was pertaining to the main battery.
This is not unusual for notebooks with an internal battery.
The main battery also serves as the CMOS/RTC battery.
You will most likely have to replace the battery in order to fix the problem.
