So, the Manual speaks of an M.2 SSD but that happens by putting an M.2 in an adapter board in lieu of the 2.5 inch disk. So really an M.2 makes no sense as it would be no faster than a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Do not put an SSD in an optical drive caddy. It likely will not be bootable and the interface for the optical disk is detuned to run slower as an optical/DVD drive cannot even fully use SATA I speed. So put the HDD in the DVD caddy and put a 2.5 inch SATA SSD inside the laptop.
