Envy dv6-7210us

Have a Pavilion dv6 whose keyboard, webcam and a few other things, do not work....

I was given an ENVY dv6-7210us [product c2m1ua#ABA, S/N  2ce2361gsj, rev. 182d-110] that has a dead HDD.

I want to put the HDD from the Pavilion into the ENVY.

When I put the Pavilion's HDD into the ENVY, it boots fine and woks normally except for :

Network

Wireless Display

USB

Sound

Network& wireles do not work at all.

If I could get the drivers for the LAN card and the wireless card [wireless=675794-001, Atheros WB225 (AR9485] I think that I could get the Pavilion online and download/install the correct drivers.

In device manager there are (if I remember correctly...) a coupla more devices w/out the correct drivers, like the display adapter, which I think is an AMD Radeon HD 7670.  I believe the CPU is an AMD A-84500M w/the A70 chipset & Radeon HD 7670.

The Pavilion also has :  Beats audio and a fingerprint reader.

To sum up; I need the Win7 x64 drivers for the aforementioned Pavillion dv6-7210us, which shipped with win8 x64.

Any help, assistance or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx, in advance, fer yer time.

Take care

Roger

Hi:

You can use the w7 x64 drivers and software from the dv6z-7000 on your model except the BIOS and firmware files.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv6-7000-entertainment-notebook-pc-seri...

In addition to the above drivers, you will also need to install the amd chipset drivers and restart the PC.

That will install the smbus and usb3 controllers.   You want the 1st file listed on the webpage.

Mr. T

My gosh, that was a rapid response!!

Thank fer taking the time to read & answer my questions.

It'll be nice to use a slightly better, slightly newer, almost like new laptop vice the one I've been using...which I've barely been able to keep working!
(It's got an intermittent keyboard prob where it randomly acts like someone is holding down the number 5 key or sometimes one of the arrow keys or a page up/down key. Pretty aggravating as you can imagine.

I'm gonna download the driver's using the pavilion, transfer the pavilion's hdd to the envy and then install the drivers.

If anyone reading this can think of an easier/better way, I'd love to hear about it.

Again, thank so much for the info, Paul.

Very kind of you to help me out.

Take care --

Gratefully,
Roger

Is there any way to obtain the Beats Audio software/driver for this puter if running WIN7 x64 OS?

Can't thank you enough --

Gratefully,

Roger

You're very welcome Roger.

The IDT audio driver on the dv6 support page I posted, should install the Beats audio software as well.

Install and restart the PC.

This package contains the driver that enables the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.
