HP Omen 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, After an unexpected ASUS ROG laptop meltdown, I ended up with a second hand (but looks new) HP Omen 17 (model cb1002na, out of lack of buying options where I'm currently stuck at...long story). However, I love HP and have always had pretty good luck with them (including desktops and servers). Other than paying a little more than I would have liked, I'm mostly happy with my selection overall. It's running smooth and with very little hiccups thus far.

I'm trying to fit my 2.5" SATA SSD Samsung drive into the Omen. I'm aware of the this thread here in regards to the same subject:

However, the caddy was never addressed. I have the ribbon cable connector in transit (part# L57362-001). However, the caddy seems to be non-existent (in every sense of the word). Except, you can find the caddy brackets in the following manual on page 46 (of the MS Edge PDF viewer) or page 36 (Chapter 5) of the actual PDF document here:

There's no part number for it in the manual (or even mention of it other than that page). It seems kind of weird that HP recommends buying the "spare part" connector cable, and yet never mentions the brackets. It also seems they would go hand in hand as a set or whatnot.

They had the laptop apart when I bought it to upgrade the RAM. So, I'm fairly positive the caddy is not there as we were basically in wonderment of clearly seeing a cavity for a drive, yet no system board mounted SATA connector. It took a minute to figure out (one of the other co-workers new about the cable).

Does anyone know where I can source these brackets? Or, at least know the part number? Or, know an equivalent universal caddy or something to that effect?

I realize I can just use some doubled-sided 3M tape, but I'm trying to appease my OCD perfectionism. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

I followed up by looking for the spare part 2.5" drive numbers (1TB and 2TB that exist in the manual) to see if the brackets are part of a drive kit assembly or something to that effect. No joy.

The lack of even a single reply after almost a week must mean these brackets really are non-existent.

Or maybe it should have come with a dummy drive and caddy as shown here (and from the OP on page 1):
