Hello Everyone,
I recently was given 2 old laptops. Only 1 of which works but I do have 1 small issue. I'm looking for PCI Driver files.
its a HP Pavilion 14-f040ca sleekbook. Everything works except the built in sd card reader which is why I need the driver files.
if anyone can point my in the right direction to finding a file that will work, it would be greatly appreciated. The OS is also an issue as it's the old Win 8.1, everything seems to be expired. if this notebook can handle Win 10, I may install it but I'm sure i'll still need the driver files. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm surprised that driver didn't work.
See if installing the W8.1 AMD chipset driver works:
First file listed under the W8.1 chipset section.

Hi:
You need this driver for the Realtek SD card reader:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp62001-62500/sp62080.exe
While your notebook can probably run W10, it was never supported by HP for W10.
The other problem is that there is no free upgrade to W10 anymore and it would cost a lot of money to buy a W10 license and product key for an operating system that goes out of support in less than a year.

Hi, thanks for the file, it fixed 1 issue but I still have 2 others, an APCI error and a PCI Express root error both with an error code 28. I did the complete shut down and reboot, the sd card reader now works but the other 2 issues never went away.

You're very welcome.
If you post the hardware IDs for any other devices that still need drivers, I will post the links to the drivers you need.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:
How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager

Hi, both errors are under the same main tab, Other Devices.
the first error just says Unknown Error - Device type is Other Devices, location shows: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant system
under Details: ACPI\ASD0001\2&DABA3FF&1
the second error says Unknown Error - Device type is Other Devices, location shows: PCI Express Root Complex
under Details: ACPI\HPQ6007\3&2411E6FE&0
not much more info listed other then what I posted. The driver file you posted got the Card reader working which was listed with these 2 errors as well, I'm assuming the errors are PCI related.

Hi:
You need these drivers:
ACPI\ASD0001\2&DABA3FF&1:
I have zipped up and attached the driver you need for the ACPI\VEN_ASD&DEV_0001 device, below.
You will need to manually install the driver as follows:
Download and unzip the file I attached to its folder.
Do not do anything with the files in the folder.
Go to the device manager, click on the ACPI\VEN_ASD&DEV_0001 device needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.
Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.
ACPI\HPQ6007:

Hi, well that file took care of 1 more issue. 1 remains, it's the Microsoft ACPI-compliant system error. I copied some new info showing under Events tab there is 3 Null installs the 2nd one shows the following error.
Driver Management concluded the process to install driver NULL Driver for Device Instance ID ACPI\ASD0001\2&DABA3FF&1 with the following status: 0xE0000203.
the other 2 seem to be installed correctly and working.
ew info that is listed

Hi, so I downloaded the drivers from the AMD site, ran them, rebooted, problem was still there. I went back into the Program Manager and did an Update Driver, changed the search to the entire C drive and sure enough, it found whatever file it needed. Problem solved.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I tried the search before but it never found anything. One of the AMD drivers I downloaded had this sues opening files so I just kept selecting ignore and continued the install till it was done, then did another search and it found the file that was missing.
glad this is done. thanks.
