I followed your instructions but I don't understand where to copy and paste.  I tried to open the various areas you suggested but I can't copy and past to them.  Each one to the items you suggested has information in them.  Maybe a more detailed instrustion would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks a bunch.

Hi, @barson43

Sorry to intrude, but I had the same issue when trying to install the touchpad driver, and have a potential solution for you that worked for me.

I would try manually installing the driver that Ub6424 gave you, because that is the latest one available for your notebook.

That should bypass the OS check 'gatekeeper' that is blocking the installation.

To do that, go to the device manager, click to expand the Mice and other pointing devices category.

Click on the device listed there.

My notebook (different HP model) indicates Synaptics SMBus Clickpad because the driver is installed.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp101991.

Make sure that the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.
