Pavilion Laptop 15-CS1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Pavilion Laptop 15-CS1065cl has a 256gb SSD; I want to keep the SSD and add a 1TB SATA internal HDD to provide additional storage.  HP's Maintenance and Service Guide for this laptop references dual storage configurations in "selected models" without specifying which models will accept a second internal drive.  Will my Pavilion Laptop 15-CS1xxx support two internal drives?

Hi:

Your model can support dual storage.

Since your notebook did not come from the factory with a 2.5" hard drive, there is an excellent chance the parts to add it are not present.

See the service manual, chapter 3 page 26 for the additional parts required.

(3) Hard drive brackets   L19469-001
(4) Hard drive cable         L23889-001

The parts are not orderable from HP, so you would have to find them from a 3rd party reseller.

IMHO, it would be a lot easier to remove the existing SSD and install one of a larger capacity.

Then use the cloud recovery software to reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
