I have a dv6138ea with a T2250 processor. Which processor is best to install in this laptop? my motherboard is quanta bc30 Chipset:i945pm South Bridge:82801 GHM (ICH7-M/U) I looked at these with CPU-Z

The very best processor that is compatible with your HP Pavilion dv6138ea Notebook PC, according to the manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035677.pdf, would be an Intel Core Duo T7200 (2-Cores, 2-Threads, 2.00 GHz).

 

However.

 

Digging a little bit deeper, according to: CPU-Upgrade: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (Socket M) CPU, the fastest CPU for your laptop would actually be an Intel Core Duo T7600 (2-Cores, 2-Threads, 2.33 GHz):
