Hp pavilion 15-ay019tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need help for my Disk Driver as the disk icon is suddenly vanished, I checked the device manager, it was not showing up there, I tried to troubleshoot, I checked some tutorials to resolve the problem by checking out the registry files, hardware diagnostic, hidden drivers , The internal disk drive is showing up in the bios setup when I checked but even after trying all the resolutions available on the hp support I am unable to resolve this problem,

The Dvd tray is not opening by clicking on the button, if I put a disk in the drive it do not reads it ( I can only say as I can't hear sound of disk rotation as the driver is not visible which is the main problem).

Kindly help with a resolve to this issue

Thanks for taking my issue into consideration, Actually I have already tried each step as mentioned into the document link you have given, At first I thought there is a hardware problem as I travel with my laptop within a bag sometimes when needed and I thought maybe it got stuck with something causing some inside failure, But as going with the First step of the Document I searched the bios files and the DVD drive is showing up there which made me think that the problem might be something else, and after trying multiple tips, suggestion available on the internet I just thought to leave a message to ho community for a resolve.

That the whole story, well I'll be waiting for your reply and any suggestion you have to fix it, let me know, I'll try until it get fixed some how.

Thanks and Regards

@Ptk7,

I recommend you perform a system restore back to the date when the DVD drive was working fine.

Follow the steps in the below article to perform a system restore.

As you mentioned for a system restore, I have just tried it today but unfortunately for me the problem is still there, there were number of restore points I tried to the last one of 26-12-2018 Automatic Restore Point backup which I was fully sure that when the disk driver was fully working but still it didn't helped to get it back.

Your further help would be needed if there is anything else possible to be done by my side

Is there any thing else that can be done or I have to visit a customer care center
