If your ELAN Precision Touchpad Filter Driver version 22.2.35.2 isn’t working on your HP Notebook, I know how frustrating it can be, especially when your touchpad feels unresponsive or glitchy. Let’s walk through a few steps to help you restore smooth, precise control.

What You Can Do

Step 1: Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  3. Right-click the ELAN Touchpad or Precision Touchpad, and choose Uninstall device.
  4. Restart your notebook. Windows may reinstall a working version automatically.

If not, manually reinstall the correct driver:

  • Save the file, double-click it, and follow the on-screen instructions.


Step 2: Check Windows Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.

Step 3: Update Windows

Sometimes, compatibility issues arise from outdated system files:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all available updates.
