ENVY-13 thermal compound question..

Hi there!

I'm currently using ENVY 13 2016 model.

Recently, I found that CPU temperature was significantly high(90c).

So, i'm trying to put some thermal compound on my laptop cpu.

But I cant find where to put on.....

Could you tell where the CPU is located?

Hi,

First of all I would try to clean the fan and the openings in the computer where air flows in and out and see if it makes any change to the temperature. Remember that the computer will turn itself off if a critical temperature is reached.

There will allready be thermal paste between the heatsink and the CPU, it is true that sometimes removing the paste allready applied and replacing with high quality thermal paste can reduce the temperature a little. To do this you will have to remove the heatsink on the CPU and then remove the thermal paste on the cpu and on the underside of the heatsink which rests on the CPU using high quality thermal paste. (a grain of rice is about the right amount to apply) You can use tim remover or alcohool with a lint-free cloth.
