Hi @FelekTTV,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I'm here to help with your Elan Touchpad issue on your HP laptop. It sounds like your Touchpad may be set to disable itself when you're typing, which means you cannot use it at the same time as the keyboard when playing games. Here's how you might address this issue:

Disable the Touchpad Delay

  • Open Settings: Go to your computer's Start menu, select Settings.
  • Select Devices: In the Settings window, click on Devices.
  • Touchpad Settings: Select Touchpad from the list on the left side of the window.
  • Touchpad Sensitivity: Look for the Touchpad Sensitivity option and change it to Most Sensitive. This setting ensures the Touchpad will not disable while you're typing.

Adjust Touchpad Settings

  • Control Panel: Open the Control Panel (you can find this by searching in the Start menu).
  • Hardware and Sound: Click on Hardware and Sound, then select Mouse.
  • Device Settings: Go to the tab related to your Touchpad (usually labeled Device Settings or similar).
  • Settings or Properties: Open the settings for your Touchpad software (there may be a button called Settings or Properties).
  • Disable PalmCheck: If there is an option called PalmCheck or SmartSense, try reducing its level or disabling it. This feature may sometimes block the touchpad input when it detects typing.
  • Apply Changes: Be sure to apply any changes you've made.

Enable or Disable Touchpad with Shortcut

Some HP laptops come with a shortcut that lets you enable or disable the Touchpad, usually involving the fn key and one of the function keys. Check your keyboard for any icons that resemble a Touchpad.

Take care and have an amazing day!
