Hello, community!
I am strongly considering the EliteBook 735 G5 on Ryzen 7 PRO 2700U and with 100% sRGB screen. However, it is well known that Ryzen's graphic power strongly relies on RAM properties. So I have a couple of qustions:
1) Is the RAM soldered or upgradable? Both slots or only one?
2) Does the motherboard support dual-channel RAM?
3) What is the fastest dual-channel kit of RAM I can use with this laptop? Can I use this one: https://www.newegg.com/global/hk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232724
?
Best regards and thanks in advance,
Mikita

Hi Mikita,
The PC supports max 32GB of DDR4 2400Mhz (2x16GB)
That is the max speed, so even if you put in faster RAM it will still only run at 2400Mhz.
On page 1 of service manual you can see various configurations:

Here is the spec sheet of the PC:

Hope it helps,
David

Thanks for reply. I see, so there is no reason to get RAM faster than 2400MHz. What about timings? Will I be able to run the Kingston HyperX HX424S14IBK2/16 modules at 2400 / CL14 as stated by manufacturer?
And, as I see from the spec sheet, the dual-channel is supported, right?
Thanks again.

Your welcome.
Yes dual channel is supported. I believe the RAM in the notebook has cl11 latency.
The RAM you mentioned should work, naturally it will run at the latency, speed of the system BIOS. Actually you do not need expensive gaming memory if you can find cheaper ordinary RAM as it will perform the same as "normal memory" adapting to the settings of the system BIOS.

David

Is there a way to know what exact RAM module is used in each configuration of laptop?
Thank you and best regards,
Mikita.
