EliteBook 8460p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using my EliteBook 8460p with w10. I have successfully upgraded my BIOS to F67 (version : w8.1 - 64 bit). I still have my fan making a terible noise.

Is possible to solve the problem by changing the fan ? Are other fan available for 8460p ? any suggestion (

part number of other compatible fans) ?

the  641839-001 part number is the item number of the currently placed (as received) fan.

I don't think that I will solved the problem just by replacing the fan. I was wondering if buying a different type of fan could help and that was what i was asking about. However, to be honest, I have seen many people reporting something similar.

there is also another thread on the same issue: "EliteBook 8560p and noisy fan", here. Someone there reports upgrading the bios. In my case didn't help.

Sorry I should have included that I have never heard of any other compatible fans.
