Was anybody able to permanently solve this problem ? I have a similar issue with my 8460p. I think charger is not a problem in my case, as I`m having probles with starting laptop from hibernation... Always have try few times to press the power button in order to start it...

I have a hp elitebook 8460p and when i start it on i can only hear the fan running high speed and the screen wount start on or displays anything i have tried to clean it, remove the battery and so on but it hasnt boot on help me solve this problem

Bro I have the problem with my hp elitebook 8460p. I just wanna say that iam afraid of doing this because its costly to me is there any other solution my laptop is completely shut down no screen show when I power it on but the power light sparks. My battery is not giving full standby time for 2-3 months. Is that was a battery problem? Should I replace the battery? If not then what should I do

After opening the key board I don't see any wire connected to motherboard just black cover. PLEASE HELP

My Elitebook 8560p started failing to boot after I leftnit on AC adapter over night and there was a power surge during that night. I followed your advice and when I unplugged and plugged back the connector closer to the screen with copper wires not the strips, the pc turned on right away.
