EliteBook 8560w
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I bought my laptop EliteBook 8560w in 2011. Recently, I would like to upgrade the HDD to SSD.

Understanding that I can use 2.5 inch SSD straight away. However, in order to reduce the weight, I prefer to use the internal SSD instead.

I found this product HP 256GB SSD M.2 2260 PCIe drive (L3M57AA)

http://www8.hp.com/emea_africa/en/products/oas/product-detail.html?oid=7633917#!tab=features

Hardware compatibility

  • HP ProBook 430, 640, 645,650, 655; HP ProBook 6460b, 6470b, 6560b, and 6570b Notebook PCs: HP EliteBook 2170p, 2560p, 2570p, 2760p, 8460p, 8470p, 8560p, and 8570p Notebook PCs; HP EliteBook 725, 745, 755, 820, 840, 850 Notebook PCs; HP EliteBook Revolve 810; HP EliteBook 8460w, 8470w, 8560w, 8570w, 8760w, and 8770w Mobile Workstations; HP ZBook 14, 15, 17 Mobile Workstations

However, I have some questions:

  1. Is this PCI-e or SATA? Does 8560w support PCI-e?
  2. Where should I install it? I did not find any information about the M.2 from the 8560w service manual.
  3. Does 8560w support M.2 2280? for instance, could I choose  Samsung 850 EVO - 250GB - M.2 SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-N5E250BW) https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-850-EVO-Internal-MZ-N5E250BW/dp/B00TGIVZTW/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&i...

Thanks a lot for any help

Thanks, Banhien for your quick reply.

Then my question is how come the HP website mentioned this product
