Greetings!
The 8730w service manual (https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02188015.pdf) lists only the following WLAN modules compatible with the device:
- Intel WiFi Link 5300 802.11a/b/g/n
- Intel WiFi Link 5100 802.11a/b/g
However both modules are not officially supported by Windows 10 (no drivers available).
Can you share names of more recent WLAN modules compatible with Windows 10, please?
Thank you.

Hi:
All PC's in that model series have BIOS whitelists which block the installation of any other model Wi-Fi card from working other than those that are listed in the service manual.
I had a HP 6930p which is the 14" model of yours and it came with the Intel 5300 Wi-Fi adapter, and it worked just fine on W10 and W11 with the inbox driver that Windows installed.

Hey, Paul!
Got it.
I am currently struggling with the well-known issue when Wi-Fi radio remains turned off even if I enable Wi-Fi by pushing the sensor button at the top LED panel above the keyboard to blue color.
So far I have found the following referenced describing the issue:
https://superuser.com/questions/536912/cant-turn-on-intel-5300-wifi-on-lenovo-t530
https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Radio-disabled-on-WiFi-Link-5100/td-p/573348
The only promissing solution I found is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzAKcmlaH1M
Have you encountered this glitch while using your HP 6930p with W10?

Hi:
I never had the issue on W10/W11 but I did have it when W8 first came out and I didn't know how to fix it so, I went back to W7.
Then I tried the free upgrade to W10 when it was available and never had the problem on W10.
I think you will probably have to experiment with some of the W7 drivers for the card on the Microsoft Update Catalog website if you don't find a suitable fix.
