HP Recommended
HP EliteBook 820 G4 Base Model Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Elitebook laptop consumes battery even when the laptop is closed. The battery is consumed per day by about 2.5% with the laptop closed. I have checked and done the following: - Hardware Diagnostic UEFI program checked laptop and everything is fine - BIOS and Intel ME updated to the latest version - BIOS settings reset to factory settings - BIOS USB Chargin disabled and various BIOS settings tried with no effect - The battery is of model year 2018 and I am 84% in good condition when the battery has been disconnected, so the capacity has been preserved (checked for 24 hours) - Windows 10 kikki drivers installed using Support Assistant - disconnected WIFI card, RAM memories, SSD, but no effect on battery wear (battery capacity decreases even though laptop closed)

I've read that Elitebook laptops have had such a problem. I strongly believe that my laptop problem has been around since new, but I just haven't noticed it before. In my opinion, the problem is not so rare that there is no solution.

Could replacing the battery fix the problem?

The purchase of a battery is quite expensive and it will be unfortunate if you do not fix this problem.

What should I do?

I've paid quite a lot for the laptop and feel very disappointed with the HP laptop.
