Elitebook 840 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an EliteBook 840 G4 currently with 256GB SSD (model MZ-NLN256HMHQ-000H7)

Am looking to upgrade to 500GB and hope someone out there can share their experience.

I am specifically looking at the Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe.

Could someone confirm that the Elitebook 840-G4 will take this drive and is it a fairly straight forward upgrade? I am experienced with fitting the drives and imaging / restoring but are there any other considerations.

The drive certainly looks good on paper.

thanks!

Yes.

The Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe is an appropriate upgrade for your notebook.

You can install the M.2 SSD and then use the recovery media that you should have created by now to install the operatng system.

@erico: Thanks for confirming that SSD is compatible and your restore advice.
