Dear HP community,
I'm trying to swap my webcam module with webcam+mic ( L62742-001 ). They both look exactly the same ( see picture attached ).
old one on top
Unfortunately, after replacing the module the camera works (as it did before) but still no mic in the system (Not even in dev manager). I've tried both Windows 10 and Linux. I don't understand why.
So my question is, should I replace webcam cable as well? Or is there anything else?
EDIT:
I also bought a cable kit (thought maybe I got the wrong cable or something). Unfortunately, microphone is still not recognized.
Is it possible that the BIOS/UEFI is locked (or bound with original serial number of the laptop) somehow to not allow microphone device?
