Microsoft Windows 11

I recently purchased a new laptop for this school year, but I have been experiencing frequent issues with the camera, which is causing me a lot of trouble.

Windows Hello face recognition works fine, but in Device Manager, the camera shows up as "Camera DFU Device." I have already updated all drivers and the BIOS to the latest versions and tried various solutions found online, but the issue persists — the camera remains stuck in DFU mode.

I suspect it could be a firmware malfunction or a poor connection with the camera module, but these are beyond my ability to fix. Every time I open the camera app, it initially works. However, when switching from photo mode to video mode, it throws error codes 0xA00F4291 and 0xA00F4289.

In the Windows Event Viewer, I also noticed the following error messages:

  • Faulting application name: svchost.exe_FrameServer, version: 10.0.19041.4355, time stamp: [timestamp].

  • Another one: The Windows Camera Frame Server service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
I hope someone can help me.
